Brocade Paithani Saree
Code : P10047

A brocade Paithani saree is a luxurious and culturally significant handwoven silk saree from Maharashtra, India, characterized by its rich fabric and intricate brocade patterns created with silk and metallic zari threads. The designs, often featuring motifs like peacocks, lotus flowers, parrots, and geometric shapes, are meticulously woven into the fabric itself, distinguishing it from sarees with embroidered designs. These sarees are prized heirlooms, especially important for Maharashtrian weddings and festivals, representing prosperity, grace, and tradition. The intricate weaving process, often using techniques similar to tapestry weaving, requires specialized skills passed down through generations, and each saree can take weeks or even months to complete depending on the complexity of the design.
