Naga Konyak Tribal Tote Bag
Code : P14009

India: Hand-crafted by the artisans of the Mon district in Nagaland, the ancestral home of the Konyak tribe.

Heavy-Duty Handloom Cotton: Woven on traditional backstrap looms, creating a thick, canvas-like fabric that can carry significant weight.
Beadwork Accents: Often features intricate glass beadwork, which is a hallmark of Konyak craftsmanship.

Organic Cotton: Made from locally sourced, hand-spun cotton yarns dyed with natural pigments.
Sturdy Straps: The handles are typically made from braided cotton or reinforced handloom fabric to ensure comfort and strength.

Signature Tribal Palette: Characterized by a base of deep red, black, and orange, often accented with vibrant blue or yellow stripes.
Traditional Motifs: May feature symbols representing the Konyak lifestyle, such as geometric diamond patterns or stylized human figures reflecting their warrior history.

Reinforced Weave: The manual weaving process creates a dense fibre structure that is much stronger than machine-made totes.
Tear Resistance: Designed to resist abrasions, making it ideal for both urban use and rugged outdoor travel.

Coarse & Tactile: It has a rugged, earthy feel with a visible grain from the hand-spun yarn, providing a non-slip grip.

Warrior Identity: Historically, Konyak textiles were bold indicators of a persons bravery and lineage within the tribe.
Symbol of Resilience: Each bag is a testament to the Konyak womens skill in preserving their unique weaving techniques in a modern market.

Cold Hand Wash: Wash by hand using a mild detergent to prevent the natural dyes from fading.
Air Dry in Shade: Turn the bag inside out and dry it in a shaded area to maintain the vibrancy of the tribal colours.
Maintenance: If the bag features beadwork, avoid vigorous scrubbing and ensure it is stored flat to prevent the weight of the beads from stretching the fabric.
