Buddha Belly Bamboo (Bambusa ventricosa) is a tropical, clumping ornamental bamboo famous for its unique, swollen, bulging cane segments (culms) resembling a Buddhas belly, especially when grown with water stress, though it forms zig-zagging canes when planted in the ground and can grow quite large. This adaptable, fast-growing bamboo adds exotic flair to gardens as a privacy screen or in containers, offering lush green foliage and symbolic meaning, thriving in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil.
